What a week!

As the title suggests, it has been a very productive week of construction with nearly all items complete for the house to be "Enclosed", though "lock-up" is still a couple of weeks off yet.

The only "problem" that still seems to exist is the drain recess in our ensuite shower. They have moved it from its original location, however it is still not centered to our wall "niche" - so I will be following this up next week with our Site Supervisor, Luke.

Outstanding items from "Enclosed" stage:

  • Installation of windows & door frames - DONE
  • Installation of fascias & gutters - DONE
  • Roof flashings & valley irons - DONE
  • Roof cover - DONE
  • Plumbing rough in (water & gas) - DONE
  • Brick layer complete - OUTSTANDING - due to start Thursday 10 October
  • Straightening of walls - DONE
  • External doors fixed - DONE
  • Electrical rough in - DONE
  • Ducted A/C rough in - DONE
  • Natural Gas run to house arranged - DONE

The next stage of construction is the "Fixing" stage, which includes the below:

  • Plasterboard hang & fix
  • Plaster stopping
  • Doors, architraves, skirting & cupboards installed (excl. shelves in robes, pantry & linen cupboards)
  • Wall tiles to kitchen, bathroom, ensuite & laundry splash backs & shower recesses
  • Waterproofing wet areas
  • Fixing inspection
I also picked up all our light fittings today and took them to our storage unit given we are only 3-4 weeks away from requiring them on-site. I haven't spoken to Luke about any potential finish dates yet, but am still hopeful that we might have a house before Christmas - providing the weather stays good and there are no delays with materials etc, then there is still a chance!

I have put up the latest photos below :) The afternoon sun is a killer for photos though......
