Finally....some photos :)

Driveway ready to be poured

Hello driveway!!

We managed to get away with no drain as it slopes ever so gently down to the footpath :)

Before......

Excavation started for retaining wall

And excavation complete!

Compacting the base of the retaining wall and getting our levels right

First course down....

Finished height at the corner end (it is 1 block higher than the other end as the block slopes away....)

The innovative solution to the sewer inspection plate - thank god for hollow blocks :)

Our sexy letterbox - colour matched to the house!

Retaining wall complete with Capping Blocks

Theatre Panel Glide blinds

First set of timber venetians installed in Lounge Room

Panel Glide blinds on our stacker doors - love them!

And the undersoil starts for our turf!

Turf delivered

Front of house after Day 2

Side of house

Our lovely security screen doors have been installed to the back of the garage, theatre and laundry

All of the back is done! Looks so good!

Rangehood and cooker looking lovely!

  2. We loved reading your blog, thankyou!! Your house looks wonderful. We also currently live in Woodlands and we are about to begin the same long process by reserving some land at Logan Village yesterday that won't be registered until October/November, we then plan to build the retreat on it early next year :)

    1. Thanks Amanda! We are enjoying living in Woodlands - will be better once the construction moves away from our area - so much dust!! Yarrabilba is a very popular area - we thought about buying land out there but it's just a little too far out for us and I don't think we could've waited any more to move out from the in-laws lol. If you have any questions as you go through the building process, feel free to comment on the blog as I still answer any questions :)

    1. Good choice! And happy to answer any and all questions you have. As for garage floor we got it sealed - they grind away the floor and put a special coating over the top. Best investment we made after moving in - no dust to track through the house! Good luck!
